Here are a few tips that can steer you in the direction of winning way in texas hold em poker. Stick with these rules and you wont go far wrong

Fold weak hands

Remember all the tips on playing by position, dont get tempted to play weak hands out of position this will nearly always land you in tight spots. Also dont get too attached to specific hands just because they earned you big in the past.

Raise or Fold

When i started using this advice my game improved significantly. Whenever you play a hand think to yourself that you will only raise or fold. If your not comfortable to raise then you shouldnt be in the hand anyhow. Chances are at some stage someone will bet and the longer your in the game the more you will feel like you should call on a weak hand just to see the outcome. This style of play can make you a very hard player to play against.

Watch that kicker!!

Remember that you lead card is only as powerful as your kicker if someone else has that main card. I spoke about Aces especially in another article. If you have an A-5 and an A comes on the flop. If you bet and get called you cant be confident in your hand as if someone else has an A there is a good chance that there kicker will be better.Simple rule to abide by is dont play high cards with weak kickers!

Playing the Blinds!

Remember that the blinds are there as a table toll, when you play them you are in the weakest position on the table. Dont get yourself in pots you shouldnt be in just because you got a cheap ride to the flop!
